The route this year also enters Italy for a short stretch.

The emphasis will be on the Alps in 2011, much like it was on the Pyrenees in 2010, commemorating the 100th anniversary of those peaks first being visited in the Tour. The Col du Galibier will be visited twice during the race and the 18th stage will be the first time the peloton finishes on the 2645 metre top. Promotion towards this event was centered around the setting for the PPV, that being the United States capital, Washington, D.C. This promotion, however, wasn't all praised. WWE produced a video to promote the event using actual press footage of President Barack Obama spliced and edited with footage that WWE recorded using actors. The video is intended to show Obama answering questions about Capitol Punishment in a press conference. First airing on May 22 at Over the Limit, WWE received criticism for the video. To avoid legal complications with the U.S. government, WWE added a disclaimer at the start of the video for future airings. This included spelling out their acronym as "World Wrestling Entertainment", a name they moved away from earlier in the year.

The promotional poster for the event also featured the President, where Obama is acting as a referee in a confrontation between WWE Superstars John Cena and Rey Mysterio. WWE released a similar disclaimer for the artwork as they did for the video. NBC Sports gave a mixed reaction to this poster, citing that the cartooned image of Obama gives a truer perception of the U.S. government than that of an image painted of the Founding Fathers.

Matches:

John Cena vs. R-Truth Singles match for the WWE Championship
The Miz vs. Alex Riley Singles match
Randy Orton vs. Christian Singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Wade Barrett vs. Ezekiel Jackson Singles match for the WWE Intercontinental Championshipsteelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02400155890121057602noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3602858673135731156.post-44060930367575531582011-06-04T07:59:00.000-07:002011-06-04T08:06:41.525-07:00MTV Movie Awards 2011 liveThe MTV Movie Awards 2011 live will be held on 5th of June, 2011. The Skype website itself is also glitchy and the aforementioned message goes onto say that it was still possible to download and enjoy the Skype software. However on doing this we found no result – only the same error message repeated.

It’s easy to jump to a conclusion after all the recent high-profile server intrusions with big names such as Sony being toppled by hacking and denial-of-service attacks it’s quite possible that Skype are next in line for these kind of troubles, particularly after being bought out by Microsoft around two weeks ago – an $8.5-billion deal which today looks like a pretty disappointing start to the union.

Numerous users have been jumping over to Twitter and using their 140 characters to give Skype a bashing to which the company’s account has responded with “Some of you may have problems signing in to Skype and making calls. We’re investigating and hope to have more details to share soon”.

Are you also experiencing Skype difficulties this afternoon? Here's what they have in mind on the said fight:

Rafael

Rafael: OK, so Pacquiao and Mosley are fighting on May 7 for Pacquiao's welterweight title. This version of Mosley is 39, near the end of his career and coming off two horrible performances. Mosley is a proud fighter who still possesses heart, a great chin and good power (in his one moment of note against Floyd Mayweather Jr., he almost knocked him out in the second round). It is not inconceivable that he can land a punch on Pacquiao, who gets hit quite a bit, the way he did against Mayweather and change the fight. But this version of Mosley is slower and simply can't pull the trigger with authority on his punches.

Now, if we're talking about the prime welterweight Mosley of around 2000, or even the supreme lightweight champion Mosley of the late 1990s -- who had concussive power (eight knockouts in eight defenses) and insane speed (hands and feet) -- it would undoubtedly be a different, and far more competitive, fight. I could see the lightweight version of Mosley or the Mosley who outfought a prime Oscar De La Hoya for the welterweight title in 2000 having a great chance to defeat Pacquiao, be it by knockout or decision. That would be one helluva fight to watch.

Mulvaney

Mulvaney: Mosley does a lot of things very, very well. He doesn't do any of them better than Pacquiao -- with the possible exception of carrying greater one-punch power. He has a longer reach, but he fails to utilize it effectively, deploying a jab that is little more than a range-finder and loading up on big right hands. Those right hands loop in from the side instead of coming straight down the middle, where they would be more effective against Pacquiao's high guard. Pacquiao will see them coming, slide to his right, duck under them and unleash his left. It'll be close and exciting for a few rounds until Pacquiao takes over, pounding Mosley down the stretch en route to a unanimous decision.

Tessitore

Tessitore: Pacquaio is faster than this older edition of Shane Mosley. He's viper-like with his quick-striking left cross and right hook. He will land with ease against Mosley. There will be moments when Shane makes Manny think about his ability to mix it up with him, and he could even hurt PacMan with a body shot or uppercut. In the end, I see very few scenarios that include Mosley pulling off the upset. Pacquiao by late TKO.

Kenny

Kenny: Against Mosley in his prime? I'll say it would be Pacquaio by decision. Unfortunately, Manny isn't even facing a prime Mosley this spring.

source: ESPN Sportssteelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02400155890121057602noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3602858673135731156.post-58842353909598913422011-04-28T07:52:00.000-07:002011-04-29T01:20:08.517-07:00The Royal Wedding Live in BBCBeing the biggest broadcasting company in the world, BBC will have one grand live coverage of The Royal Wedding of Prince William of Wales and Kate Middleton. Daughter of a sumo legend and national icon, Kozue Akimoto wants to step out of her father’s shadow and is quickly finding her niche as the model with eclectic tastes.

Against the backdrop of Shibuhara, emotions and dramas unfold as the driven young women navigate the demands of friends, relationships, managers and families on the road to make their mark.

“This is the story of four young women who follow their hearts and chase their dreams. The names and professions of the cast are real. So are their dialogues, friendships, experiences and feelings, said Alan Swarts, vice president of Creative and Content at MTV Networks Japan and executive producer of the show. “Being cast in the production, the reality series is their one hope to scale new height in the cut-throat world of show business.”

Shibuhara Girls is a twelve-part 30-minute series in Japanese with English subtitles.

Known for its reality drama productions, MTV offers TV hits such as The Osbournes, Laguna Beach, The Hills and Jersey Shore, around the world. MTV Shibuhara Girls is the networks’ first foray into the reality drama format based on an Asian culture and landscape – Tokyo’s Shibuya and Harajuku region is the natural selection being the pop culture hot spot in Asia.

Shibuhara Girls is produced by MTV Networks Japan, in partnership with Avex Entertainment and LesPros Entertainment.

CAST:

Marie Ishikawa grew up in Tokyo. The woman that Tony Parker cheated with is Erin Barry, who also happens to be Brent Barry’s wife, Tony Parker’s teammate! Erin Barry and Brent Barry are also in the process of getting divorced, so we can’t help but wonder, will Erin Barry and Tony Parker start dating now that their marriages are over? Or are Tony Parker and Erin Barry already a couple?

Eva Longoria found out that Tony Parker was cheating with Erin Barry after she found text messages between the two on Tony’s cell phone.

Did Erin Barry start hooking up with Tony Parker before or after she and Brent Barry decided to get divorced? In a 17-page injunction (PDF document) issued on Tuesday, Judge Kimba Wood of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York ordered LimeWire to cease the searching, downloading, uploading, file trading and file distribution functionality of LimeWire's P2P filesharing software.

The injunction instructed LimeWire to immediately communicate the court's decision to all users of the software and to all of the company's employees, principals and other stakeholders. It gave the company 14 days to report back to the court on the steps LimeWire has taken to comply with the order.

A spokeswoman for the company today stressed that the court's order does not mean that LimeWire is shutting down and said that it only prevents LimeWire from distributing or supporting its P2P software. It does not prohibit the company from going ahead with its previously announced plans to launch a subscription based music service and neither does it prohibit the company from operating its online store, the LimeWire spokeswoman said.

"While this is not our ideal path, we hope to work with the music industry in moving forward," the spokeswoman said. "We look forward to embracing necessary changes and collaborating with the entire music industry in the future."

The court injunction is a huge victory for the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), which has been trying to get the court to shut down LimeWire for quite some time. The RIAA and the music labels it represents have accused LimeWire and its chief executive, Mark Gorton, of willfully enabling widespread copyright infringement. In numerous court documents the music industry has claimed that the use of LimeWire's P2P software by users to illegally download and distribute copyrighted music has caused the industry tens of millions of dollars in losses.

In a ruling in May, Wood found LimeWire and Gorton liable for inducing and enabling copyright infringement. Wood agreed with the recording companies and found that LimeWire and Gorton had engaged in conduct that knowingly fostered and enabled copyright infringement. The judge upheld virtually all of the arguments raised by the recording companies and ruled that LimeWire had failed to implement any meaningful barriers that would have made it harder for users of its software to illegally share and download music files.

Following that ruling, the RIAA ratcheted up its pressure against LimeWire by asking the court to shutter the company and freeze all its assets. Then in June eight music publishers also filed a related copyright infringement lawsuit against LimeWire in the same federal court in New York.

A predictably jubilant RIAA today welcomed the court's response to the lawsuits. "For the better part of the last decade, Limewire and Gorton have violated the law," the RIAA said. "The court has now signed an injunction that will start to unwind the massive piracy machine that Limewire and Gorton used to enrich themselves immensely."

The statement noted that the court is scheduled to conduct a trial in January to determine the extent of the damages that LimeWire should be held liable for to compensate for the "billions and billions" of illegal music downloads through LimeWire. The court injunction ominously noted that LimeWire almost certainly will be held liable for the piracy and potentially be assessed statutory damages that are well beyond its capacity to pay.

Tuesday's ruling comes just weeks after the Federal Trade Commission announced that it was dropping an investigation of the company's P2P software. The FTC said its decision was prompted by the new safeguards that LimeWire has built into newer versions of its software.steelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02400155890121057602noreply@blogger.com
