Charice Pempengco, the third placer in ABS-CBN’s defunct talent show, “Little Big Star” is again making news in the US. After being named as an international singing sensation and featured in Oprah as one of the talented kids in the world, New York Times calls the 17-year-old singer as the newest pop princess.
In New York Time’s section POPWRAP, writer Ryan Brockington includes Charice in a list of five favorite hit songs together with Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” (Electrolightz remix). Brockington praises Charice’s talent saying her, ” mountain-and-valley vocals (that means range kids) are the only reason you will need to fall in love with her sound.”
According to ABS-CBNNews.com, her single “Pyramid” already reached 1 million downloads.
Her album will be released on May 11 and another appearance on Oprah is also possible.
