Saints quarterback Drew Brees took home the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Year Wednesday afternoon. He won the award, beating out opposing Super Bowl quarterback Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts, and Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre.

The recipient of the NFL Air Player of the Year trophy is determined by a vote of fans worldwide and is awarded annually in the run-up to the big game. A cash donation of $25,000 will be made Safe Kids USA in New Orleans.
Brees also won the award in 2008 and 2006.
